Assembly Planning Committee to scrutinise London Plan alterations

As the consultation continues on the Mayor’s draft Further Alterations to the London Plan, the London Assembly Planning Committee will this afternoon scrutinise the document.

Why is there a 20,000 gap between how many houses the Mayor plans to build and how many the evidence base says are needed? How can the Plan justify failing to meet housing need? Is the Mayor too quick to give up employment space in favour of residential development?

The meeting starts at 3.30pm this afternoon. It should be webcast live at

If you have any comments on the draft FALP, please email them to my researcher Alex Csicsek at
