Boris’s Broken Promises #3: “I will protect the green belt by using the Mayor’s powers to refuse applications to build on it”

Before his election in 2008 Boris Johnson unequivocally promised:

“I will protect the green belt by using the Mayor’s powers to refuse applications to build on it”

By May 2011 he had dealt with 40 planning applications in the Green Belt. How many did he turn down? … NONE

No wonder the Tory Mayor has airbrushed the pledge out of his ‘progress’ report.

And what is the ticket that Boris Johnson is selling himself on?

“Do you want a mayor who breaks his promises or one who keeps them?”

The facts speak for themselves; you cannot trust this Tory Mayor.
